The uptime of a Web service, like YouTube, is quite important. It's also rather important to know the latency of how long it takes to load for example www.youtube.com or www.bsvforum.com in different parts of the world.

Bitping, in beta, is a monitoring service for websites.

A website owner can request that other Internet users around the globe, or in a specific geographical region, ping that website. Statistics are then shown on Bitping's dashboard.

I'm currently testing how responsive BSV Forum is. For that reason I loaded about 10 Euros to my Bitping account to be spent on uptime monitoring. It costs under 10 Euros per month to have someone ping www.bsvforum.com every 2nd minute.

This website is hosted probably in Finland, so it's (again, probably, or even likely!) responding quite fast over here, but how's the responsiveness in the US? A few minutes ago one node in Minnesota informed it took 0.15 seconds to successfully ping it using Windows 10 and Mediacom Comm. Corp as the ISP.
