Have you fallen for a Bitcoin scam?
The PowPing user patrice posted a few hours ago* how he paid for Bitcoin 14 500 USD in 2017. With that he probably refers to the "BTC gone parabolic" situation when the price climbed towards the sky, and how he bought nearly at the top.
But was it a scam? Maybe it was, but only partially. This is claimed by Bloomberg authors Matt Robinson and Matthew Leising, who suggested in June 2018 how Tether (USDT), and associated company Bitfinex, were used as instruments of price pumping.
Curiously Bloomberg.com posted basically the same article again, in November 2019, as previously mentioned. The juicy bit in that newer article is this:
"'Our results suggest instead of thousands of investors moving the price of Bitcoin, it’s just one large one,' Griffin said in an interview. 'Years from now, people will be surprised to learn investors handed over billions to people they didn’t know and who faced little oversight.'"
Thus it was partially a scam. 😖
