So it turns out that turntables keep turning. Couple points here to clarify who really owns Bitcoin, the word, the term:

1. The word "BITCOIN" is a registered trademark in the European Union. It was registered by a Japanese company bitFlyer Inc. in July 2015. (Registered for electronic machines.)

2. The word "Bitcoin" is a registered trademark in the European Union. It was registered by a Ukrainian individual in March 2018. (Registered for alcohol and tobacco products.)
